– Interplay of biology, environment and adaptation through time.

 

2. CULTURAL VARIATION

 – The rich diversity in social practices that different cultures exhibit around the world.

 

3. ENVIRONMENT + HISTORY

– We are products of our natural and social environment.

 

4. VARIATIONS WITHIN CULTURES

  • Nationality – The identity that is tied to being part of the nation.

  • Ethnicity – Smaller cultural groups that are not necessarily subscribed to the mainstream culture.

Refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women.

Refers to biological characteristic of humans such as male of female while gender categories are more varied.
